What if it barely snows? Do I still pay the full seasonal price?
Yes. A seasonal contract is a flat price for the winter, so a light winter costs the same as an average one, and a heavy winter costs the same too. That is the trade: you give up the savings of a mild year in exchange for never getting a surprise bill in a bad one.
The price is built from snowfall history rather than from last winter, so it is not set to a monster winter. We publish the county records it comes from on our snowfall history page so you can check the basis.
The contractor is also paying to be ready whether it snows or not: salt bought before the season, equipment and crews held for every storm. That cost does not go away in a mild winter.
