Ice is the real liability. We treat lots and walkways before, during and after storms so surfaces stay safe and slip claims stay off your desk.
Salting is a separate job from plowing, and it runs on different weather: a freezing-rain event or a refreeze after a thaw needs treatment without a single plowable inch falling. Plain rock salt also slows down once the pavement drops below about 15 degrees Fahrenheit. Below that, treated salt or calcium and magnesium chloride blends do the work; brine is a pre-treatment that stops snow bonding, not a cold-weather fix. On our contracts salting is either inside the seasonal number or billed per application, and we say which one we are proposing rather than leaving it in the small print.
Our own salt supply
We stock salt before the season starts, kept dry in hoop-style barns and in shipping containers staged at service locations, so material is close to the properties that need it. When regional supply runs short in a bad winter, our clients' properties still get treated on schedule.
Applications are matched to the surface and the forecast: bulk rock salt for lots, calcium blends for sidewalks and entryways, and pre-treatment ahead of ice events.
